Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC) is looking for a strong, organized, service-minded and committed Data Manager for our “Research and Innovation Office” (RIO) to support Clinical Research across the research departments.

  • Participate in building a central set-up at SDCC for data management
  • Build and maintain a catalogue of the health registers and data sources we have access to at SDCC, as well as other relevant national registers, cohorts, and additional data sources in Region Hovedstaden
  • Be project lead on the establishment of a project database at Statistics Denmark with a broad aim to cover a large range of projects at SDCC
  • Be Steno’s expert on the process of data applications, and be the “go to” person for researcher regarding:
    • Applications to authorities for official permits to conduct scientific studies
    • Updates of in-house national registers
    • Data management in relation to data received at SDCC, including checking and to some extent cleaning of data
    • Manage data access, keep a log of users and inform about data security
  • Handle practical introductions to new researchers in how to work at Statistics Denmark, including data security in connection with the return of data
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the collection and handling of data in the EURODIAB (European Childhood Diabetes Registers) collaboration.


  • Master’s degree and preferably a PhD degree in statistics, computer science, health sciences or similar
  • Quality-conscious and detail-oriented
  • Practical experience with SAS and R
  • Experience with handling large registers of person level data
  • Good collaboration skills
  • Additional qualification will be prioritised:
    • Experience with data reviews and data processor agreements
    • Knowledge of REDCap
    • Knowledge of clinical trial data standards (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC)
    • Practical experience with SQL

Additional tasks depending on area of expertise:

  • What are the data needs in the future: what data is relevant to collect about our users at SDCC in the future? Including:
    • Participate in the development of new quality indicators for diabetes management at SDCC, including the inclusion of patient-reported outcome information
    • User involvement: project lead on ensuring a more patient-centred perspective in our electronic health records (in relation to this, contribute to translating (multi) omics data to users [health care providers and persons with diabetes] in a user-friendly format supporting treatment decisions in personalised medicine in the clinic)
    • Join relevant networks with “equals” from other disease areas
  • Contribute to building and maintaining a new register of data output from CGMs
  • Be involved in data management processes in clinical trials, including construction of associated CRFs (e.g. REDCap) and creating clinical trial data standards (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC))
  • In the long run, maintain SDCC’s national diabetes register
