At Terma we are building world class AI systems for mission critical systems in Defense, Space, and Radar systems. Our systems serve and protect lifes in critical situations and protect critical infrastructure around the globe. We cannot afford to be anything else than the best, if this is equal to your ambition, we will be delighted to hear from you.
Terma A/S is an innovative Danish company delivering high-end niche products, technologies, and capabilities for space, radar systems, coastal- and traffic surveillance, aerostructures for the F-16 and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, as well as advanced self-protection systems for aircrafts and helicopters.
We are looking for a MLOps Engineer to help Terma establish how CI/CD and SaaS will enable delivery of new functionality to our world-leading radar systems, self-defense solutions and other systems – of which some traditionally live a life disconnected from the Internet.
- Collaborate closely with our Data scientists, Data Engineers, AI Architect and IT department to establish a new AI environment fit for our needs
- Provide advice on MLOps methodologies, tools, and platforms to our product and project development teams
- Help build services for our on-premises Kubernetes and HPC clusters
- Introduce edge and cloud architectures to Terma’s products
The role – and you as a person
The role as MLOps Engineer will be rooted in our Data Science- and AI team, in which we have a need for enabling continuous learning from data and pushing refined AI models to the customers’ systems. Our focus is “MLOps” – especially how we securely collected data from remote sites, develop machine learning micro services, and deploy them back to the customers’ sites. From a MLOps perspective your mission is to ensure that this workflow can be as productive as possible.
Terma’s software development teams are already well-versed in continuous integration. Establishing the “last mile” by delivering new functionality to fielded products will be the core opportunity and challenge.
As a specialist you work with a large degree of autonomy guided by our strategic goals. You are expected to be able to communicate clearly with people outside your own field. Furthermore, you will have a significant impact on the choices of platforms, architectures and tools used across our organization.
The position comes with significant room to grow – and to impact on how Terma delivers value to our end-users in the future.
Being successful for us is a team effort, and our team is based on mutual trust in each other’s expertise and an informal communication, where we challenge ourselves and one another through sparring and collaboration. Basically, we have a team of nice and friendly people, and we expect this description to fit on you too.
Education & Experience
You possess a degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Whilst your specific skills and experiences may be a mix or subset of what we ask for, we expect you to be ready to learn new technologies on a regular basis.
We are looking for a colleague with solid experience within the following areas:
- Secure Edge, Cloud and IoT architectures.
- Linux system administration.
- CI/CD pipelines and tools (I.e., Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, or cloud equivalent).
- Containers and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Scriptable orchestration and provisioning (Ansible, Puppet or similar).
If you have experience with one or more of the following it is considered a plus:
- High Performance Computing (SLURM, User-space containers, GPUs, RDMA).
- Administrating data science stacks such as JupyterHub, Apache Spark and Apache Airflow.
- Data storage architectures for Big Data.
If you are conversational in Java and/or C# it will help you to interface with our other development teams.
What does Terma offer you?
You join an international and well-reputed organization working within a highly specialized and unique domain – and you will spend your time with highly professional and inspiring coworkers, who share a good sense of humor (if we must say so ourselves). Finally, we offer competitive employment conditions and good development opportunities both professionally and personally – and room for maintenance of a healthy work-life balance. If you are interested, you can also join our social activities such as fitness and sports or participate in conferences and events.
