Then we welcome you to be part of the global Data Management & Analytics team in Novo Nordisk.
You will be part of designing and building up our enterprise AWS Data Science platform offering, which includes scalable big data clusters and a collaboration platform for co-developing and hosting machine learning models. Furthermore, you will be involved in the most business-critical AI/ML projects across Novo Nordisk.
You will be part of defining the strategic direction of AI/ML and execute strategies on how DMA services can help address and resolve challenges with regards to building an AI/ML collaboration platform.
The platform will be hosted on AWS with solution design and technology choices making the platform suitable for scaling across the full enterprise. This requires identifying the AI/ML technologies applicable for enterprise scaling and flexibility, creating a modern MLOps environment to enable life cycle monitoring of models and enabling the platform for Data Scientist to collaborate by creating feature engineering stores and sharing of scripts and outputs.
You will collaborate closely with DM&A Operations in India to whom you will transition your AI/ML projects to productionized operations and maintenance post go-live. In your role you will be working using the Agile methodology for developing and delivering data and analytics products.
Through your daily work we expect you to gain industry recognition and stay updated with relevant research and related technological advances and being an evangelist of the Novo Nordisk AI/ML journey.
You have a master’s degree or PhD in Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Economy or similar where you were top of your class and have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
You should have:
- good theoretical grounding in basic statistics, probability and machine learning libraries
- demonstrated experience in building machine learning models
- experience in MLOps incl. monitoring and life cycle management of ML models
- deep experience with Python development
You preferably have:
- experience with the AWS technology stack
- experience with large-scale distributed computing, like Databricks (Spark)
- Experience with working in agile teams using Git, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines

About the department
The Data Management & Analytics team is an international, high performing team with a variety of technical and analytical backgrounds. The responsibilities range from data acquisition/ingestion, data analysis, and data engineering, to evangelizing the opportunity to apply data and advanced analytics, initiating analytical initiatives and supporting data science users of our platform. We have built and are operating the data lake and data science platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support our mission; and we are continuously developing and extending the platform. The overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings and insights, and to ensure we deliver value to our stakeholders and the business.
We are currently 27 internal and 5 external employees in 3 different locations in India, USA and Denmark. We are planning to expand our offerings to the global organization, particularly in the data engineering and data science space, why we need an extra resource to succeed with our journey and ambitious vision.
