About us
The Danish Cancer Society Research Center is an international research environment with 24 research groups ranging from biology to epidemiology. We offer research support from our four core facilities, of which one is Statistics and Data Analysis.

About the job
The position as head of Statistics and Data Analysis entails both a range of management tasks as well as taking part in the daily work with statistical input and analyses for our research groups. Managerially, your tasks will consist of personnel management of the six statisticians in the group, and in addition you must perform statistical consultancies primarily within epidemiological research. As a leader you will be part of the department’s research leader council. You will be responsible for the portfolio management of the statistical tasks, for strategic development matching the needs of the research center, financial management, competency development of the statisticians and other researchers, work processes and collaborative relationships, data security, and quality assurance of the services provided, of the work processes and the collaborative relations. Since you are expected to contribute with statistical input and analyses to the extent needed, we require solid experience within the use of statistical and epidemiological methods. You must be able to guide and assist researchers in the planning of studies, to execute and interpret statistical analyses, participate in writing scientific articles, and to enhance and strengthen the statistical standards of the department.

Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or similar. You have a solid theoretical background, experience with the use of advanced statistical models, and experience with epidemiological studies. Experience working with health registries is an advantage. A PhD degree may also be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

You like working on consultancy terms and taking part in cross-disciplinary collaborations. We offer a stimulating job in an international research environment with good opportunities for professional and managerial development. The position is not time limited. Weekly working time is 37 hours with lunch break included.

Salary and pension scheme will be according to the agreement between the Danish Cancer Society and the relevant trade union. In addition, we have canteen, free daily fruit, sports activities and an arts association as well as a physiotherapist. Working hours are of course smoke-free.
